What’s New
Healthy Campus now supports a simpler way to document time-based services by allowing forms to update the CPT code based on the service duration selected by the practitioner.
This is especially useful for services like psychotherapy, where the code changes based on how much time was spent with the student.
How It Works
Admins can now configure a form to use scoring and rule logic to determine the correct CPT code. A common setup is to add a multiple choice question asking the practitioner to select the time spent, with options such as:
- 16-37 minutes
- 38-52 minutes
- 53+ minutes
Each answer is assigned a score, and form rules use that score to automatically update the CPT code to the correct value.
-
Enable scoring on the form
When editing the form as an admin, make sure scoring is turned on. This is required for the time-based code logic to work. -
Add a multiple choice time question
Build the form so it includes a multiple choice question where the practitioner selects the time range for the service. Assign a score to each answer choice so each time range maps to a different score. -
Configure the if/then scoring logic
In the form editor’s if/then logic builder, create rules based on the score. For example:- If score = 0, then CPT = 90832
- If score = 1, then CPT = 90834
- If score = 2, then CPT = 90837
Once this is set up, the form can automatically update the CPT code based on the time range selected by the practitioner.

What Practitioners Will Experience
When a practitioner completes the form, they select the applicable time range as part of their documentation. The form then automatically updates the CPT code based on that selection. If the practitioner later changes the selected time range, the CPT code updates as well.
Why This Matters
This new workflow helps districts simplify documentation for time-based services by:
- reducing the need to create separate forms for each time-based code,
- making documentation more consistent for practitioners,
- allowing a single service form to adapt to different time ranges, and
- supporting cleaner, easier-to-maintain templates.
Key Takeaway
For time-based services, Healthy Campus can now use form scoring and conditional logic to assign the correct CPT code based on the duration selected by the practitioner. This makes time-based documentation more flexible and much easier to manage.
