What’s New
Healthy Campus now supports a simpler workflow for forms associated with unit-based codes. When a practitioner adds one of these forms in the session summary, they can choose the appropriate number of units from a Units dropdown.
This is designed to make documentation easier for services that are billed by units rather than by time thresholds.
How the Units Field Works
The Units field is intended for codes that are truly unit-based.
When a code is unit-based:
- The practitioner completes the form as usual.
- In the session summary, they select the correct number of billable units.
- No additional time-based calculation is required in the workflow.
This gives teams a straightforward way to document services without asking staff to manage more complicated billing logic during documentation.
What are unit-based codes?
- Unit-based codes: one code can be billed in multiple units, usually something like per 15 min, so staff are effectively choosing how many units of that same code apply.
- Time-based codes: the session length determines which code in a time band applies, so staff are really choosing the time range, not just a unit count.
Examples from the CYBHI fee schedule:
Unit-based examples
- H2014 Skills Training and Development / Patient Education, individual or group, each 15 min
- H2027 Health behavior intervention - Psychoeducation, individual or group, 15 min
- T1027 Family training and counseling for child development, per 15 min
- T1017 Targeted Case Management, 15 min
- H0034 Medication training and support, per 15 min
What about time-based codes?
